The mission of the Hood River Valley Residents Committee is to protect Hood River Valley's farm and forest land and the livability of its cities and rural communities through advocacy, education and monitoring land use processes and decisions.

DEIS released for Whistling Ridge

The project would be highly visible from the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area and the west side of the Hood River Valley. The proposed project area is within a designated “Northern Spotted Owl Special Emphasis Area” and adjacent to the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.

Middle Mountain voted down

After reviewing economic reports for the proposed Middle Mountain wind project, the Hood River County Commission unanimously voted against pursuing the project any further.
