Middle Mountain voted down

[May 28th, 2010]

After reviewing economic reports for the proposed Middle Mountain wind project, the Hood River County Commission unanimously voted against pursuing the project any further. The May 17th vote occured before the audience of about 40 citizens had the opportunity to comment. The commission cited economic concerns, as well as other concerns brought forth from the public, as reason for voting the project down.

Above is a (blurry) image of the 20-year economic forecast prepared by Clarity Analytical, LLC. It detials how the project would not provide significant economic gains until 2025.
